Born: 15th May 1933, Elvington, Kent

Inside-forward Peter Broadbent joined Brentford as a professional from Dover FC in the summer of 1950 but after just 16 league outings for the Bees, he left Griffin Park to join Wolves for £10,000 in February 1951.
Peter BroadbentManager Stan Cullis gave him his debut in the home game against Portsmouth the following month and though he impressed, Portsmouth won 3-2. ober the next 14 seasons, Broadbent went on to give Wolves great service both as a goal-maker and a goalscorer. He won three League Championship medals in seasons 1953-54, 1957-58 and 1958-59 and an FA Cup Cup winners medal in 1960 as Wolves beat Blackburn Rovers 3-0. He won seven full caps for England, the first against the Soviet Union in the World Cup finals of 1958. His only goals at full international level came when he scored both England goals in a 2-2 draw with Wales at Villa Park in November 1958. His best season for Wolves in terms of goals scored was 1958-59 when he top-scored with 22 goals including a hat-trick in a 5-3 win at Portsmouth. He left Wolves for Shrewsbury Town in January 1965 after spending almost 14 years at Molineux, scoring 145 goals in 497 games.
From October 1966 until the end of the 1968-69 season he assisted Aston Villa and then finished off with spells at Stockport County and Bromsgrove Rovers, retiring in November 1971.
After retiring from football Peter ran a succesful baby-wear shop in Halesowen, and his son, Gary is a professional golfer.
